If you are looking for a Heavy Duty Bench, this is it. Very sold and well designed Bench. Easy to put together and only takes 15min to finish. No complaints what so ever. It is a little expensive at 2-3 times more the other models, but they don't even compare to how much load this bench can take. I looked around on sites like EliteFTS, Stengthshop, Amazon and others. None of them had a bench that was built like this.
The first time you lay down on this bench. You will notice just how solid it feels. The Pad width is a little wider then most commerical gym bench pads. Which is great. Many times I find pads to be to narrow. My shoulder blades are half off the bench and not supported well. Not with this one.
Now with this you have two options with Pads. The factory Pad is great and grips well. Even with a big Arch while Benching. You stay put. I haven't slide around at all. The pad is stiff and not very forgiving.
For an extra $30 you can get the Thompson Fat Pad. Which if you bought alone. You are looking at $177 just for the pad. So I would 100% order this with the Fat Pad. The $30 extra makes this a heck of a deal that you just can't go wrong.
Don't just take my word for it. Check out some of the Reviews on it.
Comfortable and Solid
I purchased this bench after looking through all of the benches available from Rogue Fitness. I chose this one with the fat pad because I remembered long ago when lifting that a skinny bench would hurt my shoulder blades during bench. I wanted to feel solid while doing any of my workout requiring it.
I was not disappointed by this purchase. The pad is the perfect firmness and the bench is more sturdy than I thought it would be. This bench is just another reason to go rogue.
One Stout Bench!!
I have been looking for a new economical flat bench for quite a while. I had my eyes on this one for a bit because of the price. I finally decided that I had to have one with the Thompson Fat Pad. We've had it for less than a week and I am so glad to I got it. I've already benched a BIG PR on it.
It's plenty wide for me to get my shoulders set right, yet not so wide that the wife feels like she's doing floor presses. The pad is just unreal. I'm 300 pounds and I don't sink into at all. If you need a great bench at pretty fair price, give this one a chance.
This thing is a beast with the fat pad. It was a last second decision because i thought i could'n't afford it with my total order. Thank god i decided to get it. The BEST bench I've ever used hands down. Spend the money on this with the fat pad. No doubt your bench alone will go up from just using this pad because of the width and supporting your back and shoulders. Must buy
Best gym purchase I have made!
I use this mainly for bench press in my power rack. All the other benches I looked at were amateurish and weren't intended for heavy weight. This is as solid as I could ever hope for and it's standard bench press height ( try finding another utility bench this height). I will never out grow this bench. It was expensive but you get what you pay for.
